The General Union of Charitable Societies signed at its headquarters today a financial support agreement worth five thousand dinars with the Jordanian Women's Charitable Training and Qualification Association to implement the economic empowerment project for women of the southern desert.
The agreement was signed by its president, Dr. Atef Odaibat, on behalf of the General Union, and on behalf of the association, its president, Munifa Al-Jazi.
Dr. Adibat confirmed that providing support to the association came within the foundations and standards adopted by the General Union in supporting and financing projects of charitable societies after the association submitted a request for support to the Union, indicating that this agreement comes within a series of agreements signed by the General Union with associations and that the Union pays attention to projects that focus on... On the economic empowerment of families and women in line with the royal directives and a belief in social justice and women’s rights to increase their participation in all fields.
He stated that the Union had previously provided support to a number of charities in remote areas, including Izdihar and economic empowerment projects for vulnerable groups in Mafraq, to hold multiple courses in the field of home industries, beauty and drawing for children with special needs, in addition to English conversation for young men and women.
He said that a course for treasurers for associations was recently held and a memorandum of understanding was signed with Edmaj Development and Training Consulting Company in order to build the capabilities of charitable associations and enhance safeguarding in humanitarian work. He pointed out that the Union will continue its support for unions and associations to support them in achieving their mission and goals, promoting volunteer and development work and consolidating The process of sustainable development and the values of participation and social solidarity in a way that ensures the sustainability of these projects and achieves the maximum benefit for local communities throughout the country.
He pointed out that the Union is continuously implementing workshops in the governorates to benefit the largest possible number of associations and members of the local community, calling for investing projects and grants in providing job opportunities for women, empowering them, and reducing poverty and unemployment.
Al-Jazi gave an explanation about the association, which is concerned with developing and training women, youth, and refugees to activate their participation in the development of their communities, noting that the association has been working since its founding in 1995 to develop programs and projects that meet the needs of women, youth, and labor market requirements, in addition to developing strategies and plans that help women and society face various challenges. .
She said that the association, through this project, will train 40 women and empower them in the field of training and life skills, the textile industry, and various popular foods through productive cuisine, the work of bazaars, and networking participants with donors and financiers to help them advance projects that will benefit them and their families.
The signing of the agreement was attended by the Director General of the Federation and Lottery, Khalil Al-Qubaisi, the Director of Projects at the Federation, Shatha Qtaishat, and the Director of the Jordanian Women’s Charitable Training and Qualification Association, Samar Al-Faouri.
