The General Union of Voluntary Societies is the main body of charitable associations in Jordan. It was established on 1/8/1959, as a civil voluntary organization registered with the Ministry of Social Development under the Law on Organizations, to improve social services, unify the efforts and work of charitable associations in all sectors in cooperation with the governorates unions and affiliated charitable associations, and support the work of official organizations to achieve social peace and sustainable development in local associations.
