Al-Shuraidah affirms His Majesty's interest in expanding the protection of the rights of persons with disabilities
The General Union of Charitable Societies stressed the importance of enhancing the rights of persons with disabilities and integrating them into society and development, and that they enjoy their full rights.
The head of the temporary administrative body of the General Union, Nasser Al-Shuraidah, indicated that Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, is moving steadily towards expanding protection for this category, which contributes to achieving equality and justice and providing a supportive environment for persons with disabilities, especially in the areas of work and political participation, which ensures the realization of their full potential and enables them to contribute effectively to building society.
He added that the demographic opportunity for development cannot be achieved without ensuring that all members of society enjoy dignity and human rights and providing them with decent job opportunities.
He explained the importance of understanding the issues of persons with disabilities in order to guarantee their rights and enable this category to live independently and obtain the best health services without discrimination and enhance their self-confidence and abilities through their participation in various activities and their full involvement in all aspects of life, especially development, and removing obstacles and barriers that hinder their capabilities.
