The General Union of Charitable Societies expressed its deep appreciation for the steadfast and courageous positions embodied by His Majesty King Abdullah II Ibn Al Hussein in defending Islamic holy sites in the Holy City of Jerusalem, stressing that these positions represent an extension of the historical and religious role undertaken by the Hashemite Custodianship. Amer Al-Khawaldeh, Chairman of the General Union's Administrative Board, stated that His Majesty the King's speech, delivered on his behalf by His Beatitude Patriarch Theophilos III of Jerusalem, All Palestine, and Jordan, during a solidarity visit to the Taybeh area east of Ramallah, affirmed Jordan's continued efforts, under His Majesty's leadership, to protect the Arab and Islamic identity of the Holy City and to defend the legal and historical status of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque/Al-Haram Al-Sharif in all international forums. He pointed out that His Majesty the King, as the Hashemite Custodian of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem, spares no effort in confronting attempts at Judaization or changing the status quo at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, describing his actions as "the voice of truth that expresses the conscience of the Islamic nation."
He emphasized the humanitarian and diplomatic efforts being made by Jordan, under His Majesty's leadership, to support the steadfastness of the people of Jerusalem and to affirm the centrality of the Palestinian cause and the necessity of reaching a just and comprehensive solution that leads to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He emphasized that His Majesty the King's stance on Jerusalem calls for everyone to rally nationally behind the Hashemite leadership and stand united in defending the holy sites and confronting any violations affecting them. He noted that this stance reflects a popular and official consensus in Jordan to reject any violation of these holy sites.
He concluded by emphasizing that the Hashemite Custodianship is a safety valve for Islamic and Christian holy sites and a guarantee of the continued Arab and Islamic character of Jerusalem, emphasizing that His Majesty's actions are a message of peace and justice in the face of injustice. Aggression deserves praise and full support.
