Minister of Development: The Federation of Charitable Societies is a national institution that enhances community participation.

 

Minister of Social Development Wafa Bani Mustafa met at the General Union of Charitable Societies headquarters with the President of the General Union of Charitable Societies, Amer Al-Khawaldeh, and members of the union's new administrative body, in the presence of the Registrar of Charitable Societies, Nasser Al-Shuraidah.

Bani Mustafa emphasized that the General Union of Charitable Societies represents a national institution, playing a significant role in promoting community participation and association representation. It contributes to ensuring that social services reach the segments it serves through its branches spread across all governorates.

She highlighted the importance of reforming the charitable sector, which would contribute to strengthening governance and safeguarding the public interest. This would be reflected in improving its performance, enhancing its services, and enhancing the trust of local communities. She explained that the Ministry has begun reviewing the current Associations Law with the aim of raising the level of volunteer work in our beloved country.

She added that the Ministry views the charitable sector as a complement to its efforts in providing services to those who deserve it, and emphasized the importance of effective partnerships with charitable organizations in implementing the updated social protection strategy. She noted that the Ministry is ready to support productive projects run by charitable organizations, achieving sustainable returns and creating new job opportunities.

Bani Mustafa congratulated the new administrative body of the General Union of Charitable Societies, expressing her hope that they will contribute to the development of the volunteer sector, achieving its desired goals, and promoting the message of goodness, giving, and serving the nation and its citizens.

The President of the Union, Amer Al-Khawaldeh, expressed his appreciation for the Minister of Social Development's visit, which reflects the Ministry's approach to partnership and openness toward the volunteer sector and contributes to encouraging it to exert greater efforts to fulfill its role in serving charitable organizations and local communities.

He pointed out that the General Union is keen to strengthen the role of the media and the media message within the General Union and the governorates to highlight their efforts, achievements, and the initiatives and activities they organize to serve target groups.

The members of the General Union's administrative body, including Vice President Dr. Barakat Barakat, Secretary Maan Al-Shamayleh, Treasurer Salah Al-Zoubi, Malki Bani Atta, Zaid Zaboun, Raad Abu Hamour, Farea Al-Masaeed, Muawad Al-Mazna, Mahmoud Al-Haisa, Ahmed Krishan, and Mohammed Al-Majali, reviewed a number of obstacles and challenges facing the work of the unions and the efforts made to advance the charitable societies sector. They praised the Minister's efforts and her continued support for the mission and goals of the unions and the General Union to serve the local community.

At the end of the visit, the General Union presented a commemorative shield to Minister Bani Mustafa.
