Federation of Charitable Societies: Digital Awareness is a Necessity for a Tech-Secure Society
The General Federation of Charitable Societies emphasized the importance of promoting digital awareness in society to keep pace with rapid technological progress and mitigate the risks associated with the unsafe use of the internet and smart applications.
Nasser Al-Shraideh, Chairman of the General Federation's Interim Administrative Board, pointed out that poor digital awareness is one of the most prominent causes of the spread of electronic fraud, exposure to blackmail, and privacy violations. He emphasized the need to incorporate the concepts of cybersecurity and digital literacy into school curricula and awareness programs.
He stated, "Digital awareness is no longer an option; it has become an urgent necessity to protect individuals and institutions from cyber threats and to ensure the effective and safe use of modern technologies in daily life."
He explained that the Federation is keen to promote digital development by launching its official website, designed according to modern technological standards to follow the news of the General Federation and the Charitable Lottery with complete transparency and clarity, in addition to highlighting the achievements of various institutions. This website serves as a supporter of these institutions in general and the General Federation in particular. It also provides all information and services easily and conveniently at the fingertips of its readers, including the ability to follow the Federation's news. The charity lottery, and the latest activities and developments, as well as the Federation's goals and mission, partners, supporters, and projects that have been implemented and will be implemented in the future, were also discussed.
He pointed out that achieving a safe digital environment requires concerted efforts between government agencies, the private sector, and civil society, through policy development, awareness-raising, and the adoption of advanced security technologies.
He explained that we live in an era where data and cybersecurity have become among the most important elements of national and economic stability, which requires us to work to instill a culture of digital awareness among all segments of society and provide the necessary tools to protect information and systems from any potential threats.
