Union of Charitable Societies: Inclusive education provides a safe educational environment.
The General Union of Charitable Societies stressed the importance of providing a safe educational environment for students, especially those with disabilities, to promote integration and human dignity.
The head of the interim administrative body of the General Union, Nasser Al-Shuraidah, said that education is a human right and has a fundamental role in building sustainable and resilient societies, as well as contributing to achieving all other sustainable development goals. He explained that the International Day of Education is an opportunity to highlight a main goal, which is to change the negative view that people with disabilities may face in society, while emphasizing that disability is not an obstacle to achievement, but rather part of human diversity that enriches society if supported properly.
He stressed the importance of the role played by government institutions, civil society, and individuals in promoting inclusive education and working together to provide a comprehensive environment that enables people with special needs to live independently and contribute to society.
He pointed out that the General Federation gives importance to these categories through the day centers for children, which were established by the General Federation for Children with Mild and Moderate Mental Disabilities to provide educational services, rehabilitation and vocational training, and to operate these centers directly, as the centers were handed over to charitable associations specialized in the field of disability to manage and supervise them directly to activate their role in the local community and build their capacities in each governorate.
