The General Union of Charitable Societies continues its journey in promoting charitable, humanitarian, voluntary and development work by enhancing partnership with various institutions, bodies, charitable and voluntary societies, serving the community and achieving the public interest.
The Assistant Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Development for Legal Affairs, Chairman of the Interim Administrative Board of the Union of Charitable Societies, Nasser Al-Shuraidah, said that the General Union contributed to providing distinguished and pioneering humanitarian services and its development projects contributed to providing job opportunities to alleviate poverty and unemployment. These humanitarian works also had a positive impact on the importance of respecting the citizen and preserving his dignity.
He pointed out that the Union has achieved bright and honorable stations to be a true tributary and supporter of charitable societies and all less fortunate families and individuals with all available capabilities in addition to implementing projects, initiatives and purposeful activities that contribute to serving the community and enhancing its relief efforts to provide support and assistance to those in need locally and abroad until it has become a model to be emulated as a national institution that works and achieves to serve the public interest.
He said that the General Federation is keen to coordinate with the Ministry of Social Development to enhance collaborative work and collective effort in a manner befitting the level of services provided to the charitable, humanitarian and voluntary sector and to improve the services it provides to the targeted groups and segments to continue the path of excellence, giving and achievement.
He pointed out that the General Federation is concerned with correcting the conditions of the federations to continue providing their services, message and goals in serving their local communities, indicating that the Federation is keen to enhance the mechanisms of partnership, communication and contact between the temporary administrative body and the federations in the governorates to advance charitable and voluntary work.
He said that the social responsibility programs put the General Federation on the map of social work in the Kingdom and created a position for it as a result of the quality of assistance, programs and productive projects that are no less important than providing assistance to the needy and the poor, in addition to the Federation’s participation in the national plans of the various sectors and supporting the initiatives that contributed to achieving development. He explained the Federation’s keenness to develop plans and programs that aim to develop services in the Hope Centers to integrate the beneficiary groups with educational institutions and society to contribute to developing their capabilities and skills and for the positive repercussions it has on them in their lives.
