The General Union confirms its keenness to participate with various institutions
The General Union of Charitable Societies contributed by providing support to a number of charitable societies to implement projects in the field of economic empowerment for women.
The President of the General Union, Dr. Atef Odaibat, said that the General Union is a national institution and works in harmony with the royal directives to work in partnership with various institutions and entities and to promote development, indicating the importance of the role that associations play in bringing about development, as the Union is keen to involve them in the activities and events organized by the unions and direct them to present studies and projects. To enhance its work mechanisms and reflect positively on the local community.
Odaibat pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the Union has signed five agreements with associations in a number of governorates to support them in achieving their mission and goals to empower women and enhance their ability to achieve projects that will benefit them and their families, indicating that this support provided by the General Union of Charitable Societies is in accordance with the foundations and standards approved by the Union. With the aim of raising the efficiency of women in professions that enable them to enter the labor market.
Odaibat stated that the Union directs support to productive projects away from direct support, with the aim of achieving sustainable development and as an incentive for other associations that must move towards providing economic feasibility for projects that will benefit them and contribute to employing the workforce to solve the problem of poverty and unemployment.
He pointed out that such projects have contributed to providing job opportunities for many women, indicating the General Federation’s keenness to support unions of associations in the governorates in order to carry out their mission and contribute to rehabilitation, training, employment and achieving sustainable development in a way that reflects positively on the local community.
He said that the General Federation provided many cash aids to 12 federations in order to invest them in a way that achieves justice and reduces the economic burdens of the targeted segments throughout the country.
A number of association heads, Nashmiyat Al-Urdun Charitable Association, former MP Dr. Rudina Al-Ati, and Basmat Al-Khair Women’s Charitable Association, Buthaina Al-Zoubi, appreciated the support of the General Union to be able to achieve its mission and goals of empowering women and the local community and providing training opportunities to alleviate poverty and unemployment.
