Adaibat launches the Jordan Charity Lotto

Today, at the headquarters of the General Federation, the President of the General Federation of Charitable Societies, Dr. Atef Odaibat, launched the electronically distributed Jordanian Charitable Lottery (Jordan Charity Lottery).

Dr. Adibat said that the General Union of Charitable Societies, since its founding in 1959, seeks to support humanitarian and volunteer initiatives to meet the needs of local communities, the poor, the less fortunate, and people with disabilities, and to invest its potential efficiently and effectively to achieve work, achievement, excellence, and societal peace, to be a synonym for civil society institutions through coordination and networking for the purposes of unifying work. Organized collective and contribution to supporting institutions and society.

He added during the launch ceremony, which was attended by members of the Administrative Board, Ayyash Krishan, Khatam Shneikat, the Director General of the Federation and Lottery, Khalil Al-Qubaisi, a number of heads of federations in the governorates, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Charitable Jordan Lotto, Sulaiman Obaid, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Simon Raad, and a number of representatives of the Jordanian visual, audio and print media. The electronically distributed Jordanian Charity Lottery (Jordan Charity Lotto) is a form of lottery known internationally and is distributed in a number of Arab countries such as: Lebanon, Iraq, the Emirates, Oman, and others. It is the most popular form among other types of lotteries, and it is expected that this form of lottery will contribute to supplying the resources of the General Federation. With lucrative sums, pointing to the goals undertaken by the union, which seek to alleviate poverty and unemployment and also contribute to supporting unions and associations in the governorates.

He stated that the General Union implemented many national projects and provided hundreds of millions of dinars in aid to unions and charitable societies in the governorates, and supervised many charitable projects, programs and initiatives, relying on the financial resources generated from the distribution of the Jordanian charitable lottery, which is considered a model of charitable and humanitarian work, as a result of which the General Union was worthy of Respect, appreciation and prestigious status at the national, regional and international levels.

He pointed out that the establishment of the Jordanian Charitable Lottery came pursuant to a royal blessing from His Majesty the late King Hussein bin Talal, where the Council of Ministers issued the Charitable Lottery System, which defined the various types of lotteries and framed them in national legislation in order to be compatible with the Jordanian Constitution and public order. Jordanian society, its culture, customs, traditions and beliefs.

He stated that the issuance of the lottery came in order to support charitable work and social solidarity, which is a global phenomenon par excellence spread in most countries. Since its inception in Jordan in 1972, the Jordanian charitable lottery has contributed to promoting charitable work, indicating that the forms of charitable lotteries are represented by paper wheels, scrapers, and electronic distributors.

He appreciated the efforts and support of the members of the administrative body of the General Union, the heads of unions in the governorates, and representatives of the media to support the message of the General Union, its goals, activities and programs, and to highlight the efforts it made to enhance charitable, volunteer, humanitarian and development work throughout the country.

The activities of the launch ceremony, presented by Dr. Rudeina Batarseh, included a dialogue and discussion about the charitable lottery and a presentation of the General Union and the lottery’s journey. A number of media representatives, supporters and supporters were also honored, and the media representatives presented a gift to Dr. Adibat.
